1917 LaFrance Fire Engine

The American LaFrance Fire Engine Company, formed in 1903, is one of the oldest fire apparatus manufactures in America, with roots that go back to approximately 1832. It delivered its first motorized fire engine in 1907.

The fire engine that is located in the carriage house was built in 1917. It was originally part of the Laramie Fire Department, on loan to us from the Laramie Plains Museum, restored by the students at WyoTech, and delivered by the Centennial Valley Volunteer Fire Department on August 5, 2010.
